Our Learning Stations...

I love to pull small groups.  It's much easier to meet the needs of individual students in a small group.  It also allows me to better know the academic needs of each student and plan instruction that is appropriate for them.  To allow me to work with small groups students work in learning stations.  The learning stations provide them with extra practices in skills that we have been working on.

I work with literacy groups and math groups.  Here are the students hard at work in their centers.

The authors are hard at work.
 Listening to a story (above)
Reading in the library (below)
Working on rhyming at the SmartTable.
 Making patterns in Math Stations
 Ordering numbers to 20
 Forming numerals and one-to-one correspondence.
Working on greater than, less than, or equal to by playing war.  We learn each center with the teacher before moving it to a learning center.

I hope you enjoyed the peek into our classroom.  Be sure to check back.  I hope to post at least weekly.
